Great job capturing this image! It can be really hard trying to photograph the moon in the night sky, I remember trying really hard during the blood moon last year and it always turned out way too small. But you captured a great image of the moon illuminating the clouds! Also, great job editing the image to decrease the noise while keeping most of the detail and shadows in the clouds.
The feel of this image is chilling. I feel like there should be the silhouette of a wolf somewhere. The color is great. The resolution isn’t awesome, but that comes with night photography of clouds, I suppose.
I really like the night time take on the assignment. The photo was really well captured for the conditions that were present.
1. Nice photo and perfect for Halloween season.
2. The flow is well demonstrated.
3. The photographic technique is good for a very difficult image shot.
This photo is really nice, I like how illuminated the clouds are. I found myself trying to take similar pictures, but the difference in dynamic range of my camera vs what my eyes could see was too big for me to be happy with my photos. Great representation of the clouds, they’re really nice, crisp and clear.
cool image. I love the moon with the dark clouds. It is a bit hard to see the fluid mechanics but a great Halloween image!
I really like the theme of this image, as we are getting closer to Halloween. I like how you added the purple tint. Very simple but impactful image.
Art: The contrast between the dark tones of the clouds and the bright light coming off of the moon is great.
Flow: The flow is quickly understandable and easily recognized.
Photographic technique: The focus of the clouds is done well, the exposure could be a little better but it is hard to get more detail in such low level light.
I like the ominous feel of the image. That being said I hope to be able to visualize the flow a little bit easier. Possibly a bit more lighting could help give more definition to the clouds.
Image looks ominous and unique. The dark color also gives great contrast in comparison to the moon. Great image!
I love your image being taken at night. It really sets it apart. Love the erie aesthetic. Wonderful job!
Cool concept, execution could use some work. There is great potential in the lighting and coloring of this image. Did you consider using a prime lens? Their larger apertures (typically f/1.8, but as large as f/.95) would let in lots more light, and could probably clear up some of the ambiguity cause by motion blur and high iso noise. Shooting into the moon is quite hard, can’t wait to see if you try again!
The night time cloud photos will always be a challenge. The necessary long shutter speed is required to capture enough light inherently comes with some downfalls when the desired image is constantly moving and changing. In this case, the blur in the clouds adds an ominous feel. Reminds me of Halloween.
Lovely concept. Cloud detail visible thanks to moonlight. Higher resolution would have made this a gorgeous image
