Ryan do you have more images from your use of this device?
If this is ‘total internal refraction’ why do we see any color?
Could you discuss why some areas are brightly colored and others are not?
Your use of fiber optics was brilliant in order to display all of the colors. Mirroring the image gave the image some great symmetry. It’s definitely a picture I could hang on my wall.
I really like the symmetry, with the reflection of the colored lights on the bottom of the image, very artsy. Good photographic technique, with the long exposure and such.
1. Very cool. The colors and artistic impact is extremely dramatic and excellent.
2. The flow details are clearly visible and highlighted.
3. The photographic technique is exemplary with no distracting elements and the mirroring enhances the image.
That is really cool–did you mirror the image or is that just the flow of the nozzle? Thats some unique work with some great eye appeal
Fantastic image! The first time I looked at it I thought it was strangely symmetric. Great idea to mirror the image, it adds a balance which is visually appealing. The colors and reflections are also extremely captivating. I could look at this image for hours and not soak it all in. Great job! This image reminds me of Buckingham Fountain in downtown Chicago.
Nice photo and interesting use of light. The photo is almost abstract in that it is hard to decipher what you are looking at. The mirror imaging works well for this image. Sounds like you built a pretty cool device to form those jets. I’d have been interested to see it.
The creativity is bursting here. The colors are spectacular and the reflections of the lights off the water really make the image shine. It reminds me of something you would see at Disneyland.
I really like the mirror you used, it really brings out the different colors you used in the laminar flow and even looks like you have a rainbow occurring on the far sides of the flow. It is cool to see a laminar flow so crisp. Good focus.
This example of laminar flow is really cool. Great example of how light ravels through it. I am quite impressed with your dedication to creating a successful apparatus.
Art: This is definitely one of the best photos I’ve seen so far. I love the reflections on the ground as well as the color in the flowing streams
Flow: The flow isn’t easily understandable and recognized, but that is essential to making this piece so cool.
Photographic technique: The focus on the water at all points of the flow are very sharp and crisp.
Love this photo! Very clever idea with the long display while moving the flow. Looks clear and focused, very professional.
Extremely powerful image, with vibrant colors against the black background. The shape of the fluid is very interesting and how it comes down in single streams instead of like a water fountain.
Really cool photo. Still cannot exactly tell what is going on but the photo is extremely interesting. The center is interesting as well. I would like to see a video of it as well as a picture of the actual set up.
Excellent contrast in the image with the dark background and the colors. Nicely made apparatus for the laminar flow fiber optic effect. Well focused image, and interesting long exposure.
Very cool photo. Beautiful use of colored light. I like the symmetry of the image. Publishable quality.
Using fiber optics to create this image was a good idea. The image shows a wide range of colors which gives the image aesthetic effects. The contrast and lighting brings out the vibrant colors.
1. absolutely stunning!!
2. The contrast and color is excellent
3. I love the light reflections on the surface of the water
Super cool that you were able to make this and photograph it in your house. Looks like it should be a display in vegas with the photo. Nice use of a long exposure to show the movement in the photo. Excellent work
Art: when the water hits the surface it has a really pretty touch.
Flow: The laminar flow is crisp and phenomenal.
Photography: The mirroring was a wonderful technique.
Art: Great picture! The colors are astounding!
Flow: Cool to see laminar flow in action.
Photography: Excellent, this could be a poster.
– One of my favorite photos thus far! I really like the way the light bends with respect to the water and diffracts the white into all its different colors.
– The focus is clear and the is the symmetry is great.
