Very interesting, this sounded like a pretty easy and affordable way to make a superhydrophobic surface! There were a couple seminars a few weeks ago that talked about similar experimentation which got me interested in the topic, but they made it sound pretty difficult to make superhydrophobic surfaces. I really like your artistic effects also, you changed the lighting and incorporated one droplet that is not on the hydrophobic section out of focus in the background, but the main focus is on one large red droplet (which looks like a bead from Mancala), two smaller black droplets with the matte isopropyl soot on them, and the really small blue sphere. Great idea and incredible job!

This image uses an interesting perspective. I like the level and temperature of the lightning. The focal plane also feels right to me. The colors of the dye in the water is so surreal. It almost looks like melted marbles.

The post processing really makes the colors happy. I like the artsy approach you took. The focus works well with the image.

The angle for this image is practically perfect, but I the resolution must not be working on my computer since it is blurring a bit. However, I have to say that this is still a great a image. With the image at a tilt, and the fluids not moving, the eye is tricked into thinking they are defying gravity and not moving down-slope. The light refraction of the fluids drops are a nice touch. I also appreciate the fact that not every drop is the same color. Although having each one be the same color is consistent and easy, making the effort to have different colored droplets is a lot of extra work and it shows. Thank you for that. As for artistic merit, I see the image as a surreal paint canvas where the colors are popping off and the world is beginning to turn itself upside-down as a result. This image is very well done and I am very impressed by the result.

Cool photo. I like the contrast you created in the photo. very different from your teammates. I am very excited about your more artsy techniques.

I really like the post processing that was done on this photo. I also like that you were able to show the contrast between the two different surfaces.

Love the angle of this photo. Kind of messes with your perception because you’d expect the droplets to be sliding. Like the warm yellow background.

Art: The color contrast between the background and the water droplets are very interesting, the brightness from the background highlights the colors used.
Flow: The flow is quickly understandable and recognized.
Photographic technique: The focus on the individual water droplets is well done.

The light reflections of the marble are really cool. The focus is where it needs to be and the bright photo makes it very visually appealing.

Like the diagonal angle used, it shows an artistic touch. The Editing was well done, I like that you took out the distracting background and focused more on the droplets.

The focus is cool, but the left side is overexposed, and there are several distracting lights and scenery from the ITLL. I like the tilt of the image which makes it seem like the droplets should be rolling, but they aren’t.

I think you display the differences in the hydrophobic and none hydrophobic surface well, the tilt is interesting and provides a nice twist in separating yourself from the other groups photos.

Please change the settings in your post so that we can see the correct resolution, the resolution here is very bad. I like the depth of field, and i appreciate the post processing that brightened up the image a lot.

Good photo, this has a really nice perspective, good coloring, this is pretty artsy. I like the clarity on the dark droplets in the middle, where they have picked up some of the suit, they almost look like little planets with continents.

I love how different this image is. It makes me feel like I’m in the desert! Very warm. The focus point being so close gives a lot of depth to the image.

Art: Really like the lighting coming in from the left saturating the left side of the photo
    Flow: Clearly illustrates the phenomena

Nice contrast between the well focused and non focused part of the image. Lighting is well done on the image. Job well done on editing the foreground and background to be non distracting.

I like the different shapes that form on the hydrophobic surface. It’s interesting to see how some are more flat and some are more spherical. I’d like to understand why it does that. The white contrast is a nice addition to the image.

Really like the angle of this image. Makes it seem like the droplets would roll of but they seem to be holding when shot at this angle.

The focus is blurry . However, I love the contrast in this image. The red droplets really stand out with the beige background.
