The focus and depth of field are are clean in the image. The vortex and plumes of the fog seem rather fuzzy, shutter speed may have been a little too long. More contrast between the background and the fog may add to the visual effect, this could likely be done in post processing as well. Good work!

Great job using a fog machine to create vortexes! it was a good idea to lower the density of the fog by cooling it with dry ice, that way it stays together a little more, lower to the ground. The cardboard is in great focus, and the vortex to the left of the vortex can be sen clearly. My only suggestion would be increasing the contrast to try to get the background back to black. Overall, great job!

I love the way the fog curls around the cardboard. I think a darker background would make it more dramatic and showcase the flow a little better. The focus is great and the colors work well together.

The background may not be ideal, but it is a beautiful snapshot of smoke capturing and ensnaring the yellow cardboard. With that said, the swirl of smoke around the sides is surreal and very enamoring. I can see the aesthetic look you were going for, and for the most part, it works extremely well. Artistic merit seems to come from the color of the smoke itself and the contrast the yellow brings. I love the sight of the the two colors, which aren’t often seen together, and this is one of the more unique images here on flowvis. This is a nice concept.

    – I like the contrast between the colors. Would be interesting to see what different types of obstructions make with different flows.

The vortex formed around the cardboard has high resolution and is cool to see!

The cardboard object worked well to show the vortex shedding. It came out very clear and sharp with an excellent field of view. great job!

    1. Artistically very interesting- the yellow is nice.
    2. The fluid flow is well demonstrated.
    3. The photographic technique is good and the post-processing to enhance the yellow really works well.

Art: The sharp contrast between the background and the fluid.
Flow: The flow is quickly understandable and recognized.
Photographic technique: The focus on the fluid is very well done.

Really cool vortex! Even though this is a still image I can almost visualize the path of the fog. I like that you brought out the color of the cardboard, looks good!

Your photographic technique is pretty good, with good lighting. I think you did a good job of showing how the air flow interacts with an obstacle. I think your image setup would be greatly improved had you used a different obstacle, the cardboard looks like a last minute choice.

The swirling of the fog around the cardboard is a really cool effect. It would be cool to try with a 3D printed airfoil.

I really like how crisp this photo was. The focus on the cardboard really brings out the fog. Great work!

Very cool image of fog…The image shows the shape of vortex and turbulence.

Cool photo looks like it has some kind of bernoulli effects going on. Focus on the cardboard is good but i think the smoke is a little bit out of focus. Very cool vortex on the left side.

I think the bright yellow of the cardboard really makes this pop. The vortex on the left is really cool. Image is nice and clear, cardboard box is really in focus. Gives this picture a nice spooky feel.

The vortex created is well shown, I like how the cardboard is very sharp and in focus. It’s almost glowing.

I like the swirling fog and how it curls over the cardboard. The image is defined well and the focus is clear. Good photo.

I like how you can see where the flow comes from and how it reacts when it reaches the cardboard within the flow. The curls following the cardboard are pretty cool.

The swirling fog over the obstacle creates a really nice effect. However, in the future consider possibly using an obstacle with a more plain outer appearance, the texture is a little distracting. The contrast between the smoke and background is nice.

Cool vortex! The image is a bit grainy. I actually like the cardboard but there is something odd about the background. Overall it looks cool

Very calm and peaceful image. A black background would have helped contrast the flow. I like the angle you took the image from.

The Vortex that is crated around the back of the cardboard is really cool and well shown. The photo is well resolved as well. I might argue that a more professional looking obstacle could have been used.
