Danny Baker Team 8 First

Danny Baker Team 8 First

This was taken using no filters. Everything was edited in post-production. I wanted to capture the fluorescence of the blood across the jack-o-lantern’s teeth as it drips down the front. If you look closely, you can notice the dry ice fog leaking from the bottom teeth as the blood drips down to mix with it giving it an aesthetic horror feel to it. The original glow from inside the jack-o-lantern was orange, but the camera’s setting originally had the glow with a slight tint of pink. After experimenting with gimp, I found that a red lighting effect had the best results.

The smoke pouring out of the mouth is a nice effect. Adjusting the colors to pink doesn’t really work for me and a little work to remove the background would have helped the image.

It should be relatively easy to remove the background, if that is your goal. The focus and resolution are well visualized in the image. One can actually see the fake blood pooled up on the teeth of the pumpkin.

Great idea to put water and dry ice inside the pumpkin. The fog and fake blood dripping down the pumpkin’s teeth really add to the horror feel, and the whole spirit of Halloween. I really like the large contrast between the dark background and the light pinks and purples inside the pumpkin’s mouth and eyes. I would only recommend blacking out the background. Then this image could be the cover of the next Halloween movie too. These are interesting, unique takes at a carved pumpkin. Great job keeping up with the holiday season!

Interesting image. The background is too apparent in the image and should be removed in post-processing. Great contrast.

Background is distracting. Interesting how yours came out pink, it makes it seem like you don’t have a candle in there. The fog oozing out is cool. Little grainy but that adds to image. Love the halloween theme!!

The florescence in the pumpkin is unique, which I like. The image seems to focus on the pumpkin as a whole as opposed to the flow. The background could be blacked out as well. Overall, I like the feel of the image.

The pink in this image is very interesting but I like it. Great photo, maybe you could have captured the flow a little better with droplets instead of a capturing just a fiber.

Very interesting lighting, I like the florescent look it gives the image. I really like the fog flowing out of the mouth and the blood dripping down from the teeth.

I like that you managed to capture the fog flowing out of the mouth of the image. I wish the background was uniform, but it’s okay as is. This is personal preference, but i feel like you may have overdone it with the saturation in post processing, because I doubt that the color was actually so pink. Makes the photo feel too processed to me.

Art: The color contrast between the pumpkin and the light coming from the pumpkin is great. The background wall is a little distracting so maybe taking that out would be beneficial.
Flow: The flow is quickly understandable and recognized.
Photographic technique: The focus on the pumpkin is well done.

Nice photo, this looks like there’s a progression between this photo and Brett’s, which could be useful to study the flow of the fluid from one to the other. The fog in the photo is also nice, well shown. Good spook factor.

The pink color is pretty cool, along with the reflections off of the blood. I think it would be worth while trying to eliminate the background of the photo and possibly edit out the strand of cotton on the tooth.

I like the pink, it makes it less scary and brings out the flow of the dry ice and the blood rolling down the teeth.

Possibly consider blacking out the background like your teammates. Image appears a little grainy, possibly turn the ISO down in the future. Red light adds nicely to the image.

Ooooh the pink is interesting. I like the post processing decisions you made. Changes it up from the regular orangy color. The focus is really good. I like the shiny stuff on the front of the teeth. Adds another texture.

Your image has a almost surreal lighting to it. I think it may have been a little over done in some areas, given that some locations seem blown out slightly. The photo seems to have high graininess from either high sensitivity or lack of focus.
