Very cool photo. Nice range of tones. The black and white suits it well. Great focus on the action at the point. I do strongly agree that a crop to center the point would be an improvement though.
Really great job on the focus. I like that the image softens as you look out from the center. I love ferrofluids and this is a great demonstration of their beauty. The light reflections work really well here.
Art: The contrast between the background and the fluid is really well done, maybe consider cropping this image to be symmetric.
Flow: The flow is quickly understandable and recognized.
Photographic technique: The depth of field used in this piece is fantastic, it really makes this fascinating.
The focus and resolution are nice and crisp, I would prefer if the image were centered. Check out the 2013 (I think…) images of the same setup where they merged multiple images into one to get the full depth of field of the sculpture by merging discrete focal lengths.
1. The image is artistic and I like the black and white.
2. The fluid physics are well shown.
3. The photographic technique is really good and shows the highlights and shadows are well shown.
Amazing focus at the tip of the sculpture. Iv always been curious what that thing would look like from that view! I agree that centering the point would complete the composition.
Great focus, the thin depth of field gives a nice foreground background effect. The image nicely shows the sculpture and the normal field instability. The black and white color works well here.
Awesome capture of the ferrofluid display. Very detailed and focused image of this phenomena. I really like the spiral look at how it takes up the whole picture.

I really like how the flow seems to be just growing as you move out into the photo. I think the blurring of the image adds to the image
I like how it looks endless, as if you could fall into the ferrofluid continuously.

Excellent composition. I love the sharp focus at the center framed by the blurry surrounding. Nice idea using the sculpture in the ITLL.
I really like the focus and symmetry of the flow! Really cool effect.

Interesting image. I like the spirals . The contrast is nice. The focus is nice but I wish you had a better depth of field.

The spiral of the ferrofluid is mesmerizing and i really enjoy the focus in the center of the image with the blurriness along the outside. Great job.
Great focus and detail. Really like how bright it is for a black and white image. I like the vertical angle looking straight down on the ferrofluid.
the depth of field is super cool looking. I like how the spikes grow as the focus decreases. THe black and white edit is a nice touch too.
Nice focus, nice depth of field, beautiful photo. I like the pattern. I like the black and white. The fluid effect is nicely represented.

Art: Really awesome spiraling
Flow: Flow is clearly illustrated
Technique: I like the focus on the center of the spiral
Excellent focus of the tip of the ferrofluid. Black and white overlay adds nicely to the image with the black ferrofluid. Well lit image, nice job.
The ferrofluid demonstrates amazing visual effects and fluid flow. Aesthetically pleasing.
