Very cool rays in this photo. The lighting is very difficult in this photographic situation. I think you did well. The image is dark overall, but increasing exposure would blow out the cloud formation.
This is an awesome image. It looks like some god from Olympus is about to come down and hike Chautauqua. Great job capturing the light through the clouds.
I really like this image, the light breaking through the clouds adds a nice effect. However, you may want to consider turning the foreground into a silhouette I think that would add to this image. The dark side of the clouds contrast the light nicely.
1. Artistically extremely impressive. The curvature of the clouds parallel to the mountains is really excellent. The light rays coming thru are also exceptional.
2. The physics are well shown.
3. The photographic technique is good.
Nice dynamic range, maybe you could tone down the shadows just a little more to get some more detail in the mountains. Love the light shining through the clouds.
Way to capture some dramatic lighting! I really like how the rays match the horizon, and how there is a full use of the tonal range.
The crepuscular rays are beautiful and really make this image. Think the bottom could have been cropped a little more. Sky colors and mountain colors provide a beautiful contrast.
Art: I really love the contrast of the bright highlights of light coming through the clouds.
Flow: The flow is quickly understandable and easily recognized.
Photographic technique: The focus of the clouds is great, and the exposure used is perfect for capturing the light from the clouds.
I think your image depicts the fall to winter transition very well. It also does a good job in being a unique image with good contrast and focus.
Cool to see the sun shining through the clouds over chautauqua. Interesting to see the difference in the clouds that are close and the ones in the distance.
I like the rays of light shining through the clouds. It adds a nice level of detail. Cool thick clouds, which seem kind of uncommon for this time of year. I like the profile of the flatirons on the right side. Cool photo!
