This is an amazing display of subtle color differences carving out your image! Lighting and graininess could be improved by decreasing your ISO and increasing your light. A lot of people seemed to use dye but you didn’t and it still turned out great.

The balance between the downward momentum of the oil and the bouyant force acting on it makes funky shapes – id love to see the other photos you got and to see the change.

Really cool photo. The dark background makes the lighting in the water and vegetable oil stand out. Good focus and shutter speed. The flow of the vegetable oil in the water has a good aesthetic.

The contrast and shadowing make the subject of the image very clear. I really enjoy the focus as well as the flow present.

I really like how the cup is framed in black. It takes away any distractions from the photo.

This is a really nice illustration of the idea. The golden colors makes this picture very cozy. Great editing and focus.

Subject is in focus and everything is represented well. The brightness could be increased a little. Cool fluid flow exhibited with the oil and water.

This composition is simple, yet interesting. The forms of each fluid are clearly present so it contributes to the viewer’s understanding of how oil interacts with water.

The balance between the downward momentum of the oil and the bouyant force acting on it makes for some interesting shapes. The bright reflection on the bottom and top of the glass really draws attention around the image.

I really like the faded crop and grainy effect of the the fluid. You can see a lot of colors even though one color is distinct.

Excellent image, I love the soft lighting, muted colors, and faded edges along the background. Perhaps lighting it slightly differently could add more highlights towards the center of the image.

The cropping is spot on in this image, and there are no distracting elements so the fluid remains the highlight. I don’t mind the grany aspects of the image. I think you just need more light overall.

Nice framing and focus. Would it be useful to take additional photos from different angles around the glass? What do you think is happening in the top left corner?

The focus and color contrast are nice and really draw the attention to the fluid flow. It is really interesting to see the bubbles inside the oil being poured into the water.

The detail of the oil inside of the water is phenominal. The lighting is also nice too because it’s not too bright.

    Art
I like the contours of the oil in the water. They’re almost MUSCULAR.

It’s a little hard to tell what’s happening but after you explained it I got it.

The focus is really well done, and the background helps focus attention on the actual flow. I also really like color composition in the image. The image is a little bit grainy.

Very cool shot. Personally I am not a fan of the color of the oil so if it does not take away from the physics, you could consider playing with fairly extreme color modifications.

I like the vignette effect here, it highlights the flow area nicely. It looks very organic and pleasing. I especially like the boundary layer at the top. Some more color would be nice, but that’s tough with vegetable oil.

The flow looks really cool. Despite how fast the flow appeared it looks like I’m looking as something very viscous and slow. It is very smooth and I really like how this image turned out.

Maybe invert the colors or something? I am curious as to what it would look like inverted.
