I can tell that the droplets were indicating index of refraction and diffraction in the CD. It looks like it has good focus overall, but maybe limiting your depth to just the droplets might be good? The CD isn’t a fluid, so further cropping may be good.
cool picture. love the rainbow effect and colors but I would it if was more of the focal point of the photo.
I love the colors in this photo as well as the reflections happening on the disc. I like the focus, but it may be confusing to some who would want the focus on the reflections.
Great picture. Try considering different angels and distances to focus more on the drops.
I really wish I could see more detail in the drops. I wonder if a video would be a good way to visualize the physics involved here. Maybe with glycerin flowing past a CD.
Like the colors. It’s hard to focus just on the water droplet lensing. Really cool concept though.
This is a very interesting concept and the colors are fun
I think that this is a very cool picture. I liked the focus in this and I also liked how it captures the details of the glycerin droplets
The picture shows the phenomena of defraction and reflection. The picture and phenomena is reproducible and creative picture.
The reflections in the cd are really cool, however it could be nice to have the droplets more in the center of the image. The diffraction of the light is very cool and colorful.
I love the colors and light in this piece, the only thing I would change is zooming in more on the droplets themselves – you might need a different lens. Otherwise great image
The way the white light breaks apart in the glycerin is aesthetically pleasing. Did you experiment with different types of lighting?
I like the idea of observing the refraction of a reflection. CD’s are good at scattering colors so the dispersion through the flow looked great. I think you could try new crops or zooms to focus on the bubbles more than the CD.
I like the light is deflecting by the water drops as well as cd itself.
The colors are nice on the CD, and the reflections as well. The interaction of the light in the gylcerin would be good to focus on, there’s probably a lot going on in there.
Great choice of using the properties of a CD to refract the colors of light through droplets of glyerin. I also like the background choice.
Interesting image, I like the part where the the water bubble sits. Also the reflection of the CD is beautiful.
I love the specular highlights on the drops, but the bright colors reflected in the CD distract from the focus of the image. I would suggest centering the droplets in the frame.
The light in the corners of the glycerin droplets and the dispersion of colors is great!
I love your intentional use of using the reflectiveness of the CD to purposely capture the surroundings. Sweet how the droplets refraction/diffraction display all the light being captured.
I’d say maybe a more close up for this picture, considering how small the droplets are. Overall it’s very interesting.
How the reflected colors bounces off the CD and through the water droplets looks very interesting. I like the blend of dispersion and refraction. Maybe add more water so that the effect is expanded?
I like how clear this photo is. The rainbows in the drops are really cool. I do think that you could give more focus to the drops on the CD. Maybe zoom in on the drops themselves and don’t keep the whole CD in the picture. Overall good contrast and colors.
The colors are really cool. I like all the reflections over the whole image. It is a very simple idea carried out well.
I wonder what a black background would look like instead of the wooden table?
I like how you can see the dispersion of light from the CD in the water droplets. It shows the surface tension well. I think it would be neat to see it even closer to show the detail inside the water droplets.
The droplets look interesting, and the focus looks good. The wood gives a warm feeling to the image, but is a little distracting.
I like how you can clearly see the refraction and diffraction of light. I would like to see a closer shot of the droplets or even a different angle?
The multitude of colors in this picture are really interesting. The lighting was done really well to get those reflections off the CD. The water droplets on the CD are also refracting light which is very appealing. Overall, interesting and original photo.
It is interesting how the light is reflecting off of both the CD and the droplets of the fluid. It is a really good example of the refraction.
The physics causing the surface tension of the droplets is cool, very nice colors on the CD. Change the white balance in the camera, it will make the image look less yellow.
Very beautiful picture, good coloring. The flow is understandable. Focus is good for this picture. Good idea.
I really like the image composition, but I find myself looking more at the reflection off the CD than I do the drops of glycerin. Once I do look at the drops the light play within them looks really cool.
I like this image a lot. The coloring is very interesting. Seeing the surface tension of the water tension droplets is visualized excellently on the CD.
Art
Nice. I like the picture’s vibe.
Flow:
What flow physics phenomena did you want to capture here?
Photographic Technique:
These things are nice and in focus.
Interesting photo with the refraction of the light. The focus is perfect.
I think this photo would be enhanced if it was cropped and your reflection was a solid background color. Overall, the rainbow effect on the water droplets looks very cool and the focus is clear.
Really like how the CD reflects spectrum of light while each bubble has rainbow colors. Love the color contrast.
I think it would be cool to see different colors (food coloring) of glycerin to see different sorts of refraction.
The colors of light reflecting off of the CD and through the droplets of glycerin were really close. The three individual droplets are nice representation of surface tension. The picture is well focused and looks really good.
I like how rainbow reflection from the CD illuminates the droplets in the composition. Looking at the lines of the colors, the eye is drawn up diagonally towards the direction of those droplets.
Nice idea, good lighting, and totally in focus. Try to increase the amount of flow in the image, maybe more drops? Also try to reduce the noise that the CD is reflecting. Great work.
I would crop the image even more. Feel like you could have processed this a bit more as well to bring out the contrast. I like the colors though!
Really interesting light refractions going on, but this image doesn’t well demonstrate a flow.
Art: It’s a creative image, however I think that the image is somewhat distracting.
Flow: Not a lot of flow, abut I do enjoy the refraction of light from the disc through the drops
Technique: The colors are nice, and the exposure is good.
The rainbow effect is beautiful, but the other items in the reflection are quite distracting.
Cool picture and color scheme however there is a lot going on that detracts from the liquid droplets on the CD, possibly focus in on the droplets more.
