If the image was upside down, the green would look like trees! It’s really neat how your flows interacted differently in the different liquids. Did you have to pour, color, pour, color? Or did you pour, pour, pour, then color?

Great editing of this picture to make the fluid the main focus of the image. The differing viscous fluids interacting with the food dye makes for a cool experiment. Good background choice and lighting to make the image pop.

You did a great job with focus and lighting! There is a lot going on but it worked well for your flow

  • I like that the image is in the middle of a dye droplet going into the water. The separation of the oil and water provides a nice barrier, the art of it works well.

Very cool idea! The layering in the photo is very clear and I like the idea to run different colors to observe the different reactions at each stage.

This looks really cool. I think it would be nice to focus on one fluid to get an image closer up, but I like the contrasting behaviors of the three fluids.

I like how at the bottom it spread from one line into smaller lines and droplets. Was this intentional?

Really nice image and focus. I wonder if there’s a way to make the glass less distracting.

I really like the blue dye in the water and how it differs from the red and green. The image overall is a bit yellow, but I am not sure what you could do about that. Interesting to see the reactions in the different fluids.

The fluid effect in the water is really cool, I think focusing on the fingering effect of the dye might be a good idea, since that region has some really cool effects.

The different flows in the different liquids creates an interesting flow comparison. The color contrast might need a little work, but the focus and cropping was well done.

Great work, I might have cropped it a bit and messed with curves though.

The coloring is a little too yellow in my opinion. The coloring of the dye in the water is awesome. The bottom blue drop created a cool tree- looking formation that draws the eye.

The different stages of different bouyancies and surface tension affects is a nice demonstration.

I love the fluid dynamics being observed. Each layer tells something different, and it really makes the image fascinating to look at.

That being said, the background and colors could be workshopped a bit to make the photo stand out more.

Real cool! I like the laboratory feeling.

I think this clearly shows the physics of drops falling through the different mediums.

The focus is nice and the fluid behavior is beautiful, but the overall washed-out, yellow aesthetic is very distracting.

I love the way the dyes react differently with each density layer. The dyes even disperse sporadically, with one appearing cloudy and the other almost growing and reaching out like gecko hands.

Cool picture and the effect was nice. I agree the tint was a bit too yellow overall, so lighting and background or photoshopping the colors could improve the image.

I like the idea of testing the effect of different liquids on food dye. Try to use a white background and try to make the image smaller.

Sweet concept. Really enjoy what you captured. The dye in the water looks awesome, and those droplets stuck in the oil is really interesting as well. The lighting and background could be better but it sounds like you realize that. Would love to see a second version of this concept.

Great capture of the fluid flow. I think the yellow background is a little overpowering. There is also a logo on the bottom of the glass that is a little distracting, but that can be fixed using clone stamp or something similar.

Great use of different density fluids. Nice dyes and colors. Overall cool image. The color temp (white balance) is odd, you should be able to change it in your camera and make it less yellow.

There is a lot going on in this image, maybe a little to much, the yellow hue is also sort of distracting. I don’t really know where to look here but all the flow is very apparent and well demonstrated

I love the way the colored dyes dive down into the viscous fluid like the way branches from trees do. You’ve perfectly captured the phenomenon occurring and your photographic techniques are great (focus, aperture, etc.)
