Alexandra Grace Wilson – Clouds First

Alexandra Grace Wilson – Clouds First

I believe this is an altocumulus lenticularus undulatus in a stable atmosphere, but I’m not sure if the tendrils and variations are fine enough or if it’s close enough to the mountains. It was taken fairly directly overhead facing the engineering center at 91 Deg. East on February the 14th at 10:19 AM and at roughly 40 Degrees, 25″ North and 105 Degrees, 15’50” West (using my Iphone 6S compass and GPS)

Difficult to see actual clouds, but really cool to see the gray scale.

The framing of the picture is really great. Additionally, the choice of using black and white was good.

Nice image capturing the cloud at a transitional state. I would like to see some more complexity in the image however.

Neat cloud. I like your dynamic range. Your choice to go black and white works well here. Great image.

I really like the black and white. The curved shape is cool and the rippled wisps give it a silky aesthetic.

Great image, the grayscale allows the cloud detail to be easily seen. You might consider increasing the contrast slightly so that the background is a darker grey.

Cool effect to make it look more like a water ripple instead of the sky. I enjoy this picture.

There is a lot of “vibration” in this image that is interesting but makes me feel a bit queasy. I like your choice of grayscale to emphasize the form of this undulatus cloud.

Nice composition. It’s good to see a cloud photo that doesn’t contain any distracting elements. Nice choice of B&W.

Sort of difficult to tell what’s going on in this image. The ripples in the cloud are pretty interesting.

I like the framing/cropping in this. Everything significant is front and center.

The cloud is pretty sweet, I like the grayscale choice. The cloud looks a lot like a wake, really cool!

The cloud looks cool as is goes from whispy to a more solid cloud. I would have liked to have seen the colors associated with the cloud and the sky that day.

I like how you made the image black and white. It brings out the details in the little whispies in the cloud.

Really excellent job with the framing and composition here. Also I’m a sucker for black and white.
