Michael Sandoval – Cloud First

Michael Sandoval – Cloud First

Taken 2/28/18 from the hill facing south. Atmospheric conditions were stable from DIA three hours prior, but my first guess for the cloud type is altocumulus due to the height and physical characteristics of the cloud.

Hard to see the clouds in the image. The moon is really cool though!

It is hard to see the cloud in this image, however the cloud around the moon is interesting to see.

Very striking image. I wish it was more focused and sharp. The low contrast makes it a bit hard to see what’s going on with the clouds

Interesting image, the mood is very strong but the detail of the clouds is hard to see. Also, the image is a bit grainy so you might consider adjusting the ISO.

Nice job. You might want to play with the colors—the clouds are so dark and the moon is so bright.

The image is very eerie and mysterious. The clouds are a bit difficult to see, but it’s beautiful. Way to change it up from the usual day cloud image.

I like the moon in this image, it provides just enough lighting. It kind of looks like a reflection off a body of water.

Nice image. Taking night time photos are always difficult but you did a great job. Very simple but great.

Great image! I like that this was taken at night, since most are taken in the evening (at the latest)

Love the moon just floating around

I like the fact that you used the moon rather than taking a picture in the middle of the day like everyone else. Maybe turn the brightness of the image up to make the moon a little more brilliant, I think that would be a cool thing to try out.

Hard to see the clouds, I might take a long exposure and get more detail. Picture is nice though.

Love that you worked at night; I would either mess with a bunch of stuff in post or zoom in on the moon so that there’s something more defined to focus on.

Awesome photo! I really like the lighting that the moon provides to the rest of the photo.

I like the subtle wave-like features in the clouds. The photo is a bit blurry/grainy, did you have a high ISO? I like the moon coming through the clouds, it adds a nice fell to the image.

This is really cool, it stands out well from a lot of the other cloud images. Very dark and foreboding.

I think there is an interesting explanation for why the moon appears to be in front of the clouds.
