This image depicts how the strong wind brush the stratocumulus clouds towards the southwestern coast of Alaska. The turbulence was generated in the rupture of wind after crossing the volcavic peak.

Second place. This image is so dramatic and complex! It makes my head hurt to imagine trying to explain all of the patterns of flow captured here. This also gets points for being the largest-scale flow visualization I’ve seen captured with this level of detail.
