Wowza, the food dye at the end looked like an explosion of flame which was very surprising because in our minds we know it’s water. You should do this again with your team and a nice camera! This is very cool.

You did a great job displaying the vortex phenomenon. I like the editing as it creates a fire-like movement which inverting the colors conveys nicely. Great job overall! Try using a more consistent, non-textured background and maybe using a continuous light source.

Really interesting stuff here. Great explanation of what’s going on physically in class. The food coloring addition helps to visualize this, and the firey look really adds a different feel to this. Maybe the paper towel background could be replaces by something less distracting, but this is really well done.

  • You did a very good job of making the best of your lighting situation and the iphone editing. I like the highlight of the fluid flow going on with the colors that it ended up with!

The drops of liquid into the swirl are just like ignite a fire in the water. They dance around the center of swirl. And the phycial phenomenon is clearly illustrated in this vedio. I love it!

The dye at the end looks amazing. I know some other comments say this but it looks like fire, but a magic kind that works underwater. The flickering light is a little distracting, it would’ve been cool to see outside. I did a whirlpool for my get wet too, and it’s cool to see other implementations of it.

The dye placed at the end was very interesting. it looked like flame in water. You may want to have a different background.

Those colors at the end bring out the motion and make a great effect to end the video. You might consider a different background. I think you did a great job capturing the effect.

You should try adding music to the video for more effect. I really like the addition of dye droplets to the whirlpool. The droplets look like a flame in the water.

This is looks amazing! Besides the flickering light, its really cool to see the whirlpool of liquid and food coloring as it looks like fire.

The flickering of the 60Hz lighting in slow motion makes it somewhat difficult to focus on the motion of the liquid but the effect of the whirlpool is captured well and the colors look nice. I like how the drop of dye looks like fire. Next time I would recommend using sunlight as lighting to prevent the flashing.

The red is absolutely stunning. It looks like fire blazing in the water. I think if you did this outside you’d get better lighting and you wouldn’t get the same flickering.

I like the framing of the video. The texture behind the glass (looks like paper towel) is really distracting. The food coloring looks like FIRE! Maybe slow it down even more.

I think everyone is going to say this but I really dig the the colors that were induced at the end and I think a still of the moment they were introduced would be really neat. I would definitely chose a different background though! :)

  • This is so cool! When you add the red color, it looks like the water is catching on fire, even though that isn’t possible… I like how you edited the brightness to be really light. I would suggest using a solid background instead of a paper towel and maybe find a spot to video that doesn’t have the flickering light, but other than that, nice job!

The phenomenon is really nice to look at! The flashing lighting is a bit distracting, but good shot!

The changing color looks awesome. I like the view angle. The bubble on the bottom looks great.

Good framing this experiment. Whatever you added at the end to make a whirlpool of flames was a very pleasing surprise. Perhaps think about paying attention to the “strobe” effect and also adding sound

Very cool! I love the food dye. It helps to display what is happening. I think the background being simpler would help to focus on the phenomena

This video looks really interesting, the food coloring at the end almost looks like cgi fire, very cool! I think the only thing that could be improved is the lighting because it’s a little hard on the eyes, but other than that this is a really cool video with amazing physics.

I like the colors! The flow is clearly displayed. The lighting is a little distracting, probably because of the slow-mo effect.

The addition of food dye makes this so interesting. Initially I thought it was fire. Maybe next time use a white sheet with no texture on the background.

What is with the strobbing light in the photo? Is it in slow-mo? Really like the angle of the shot it feels like you’re getting pulled in! Think the food coloring is super cool!

Great Work. The food coloring at the end made the video looks very cool. Great work on generating the forces for the fluid movement. The physics is very clear.

I like the swirl effect this presented in the video, the only thing that kind bugged me was the steady flashing that you can see through out the project.

The colors at the end of this video are incredible. Like Dylan said, the dye almost looks like an underwater fire, pretty sweet! The AC lighting is unfortunate because the slow-mo video captures the flickering.

Wow, I really like the food coloring at the end, it makes it look like a fire formed under water around the whirlpool. It’s also a nice clear image. Maybe using a solid white background instead of one with a pattern and cropping in on the image could help the aesthetics.
