This photo records the moment when a drop of grape juice smashed on the plate and was split into fine particles.

Awesome composition. Looks good enough to eat. I like that the elements of the splash are a little off-center while still maintaining visual balance. The red is bright and deep. Did you increase the saturation?

I really like how deep the rings of juice around the droplet are, it adds a lot of dimension and it’s cool seeing the ripples and vibrations in there. I also like the flower pattern at the center of the dropsite. It’s a really cohesive image.

I like the centering and general composition of this image. The circular shape is very cool. I may try to get a quicker shutter speed to get less motion blur.

I really like the way you captured the moment the drop hits because the splash give the picture some action and energy. The sort of shockwave effect and the alternating colors of rings is also really cool.

I like the concentric rings. The motion blur shows the motion yet most of the fluid is stopped. Nice work.

I love the swirls! The center jump of the fluid is clear and distinct. You can even see where the fluid is denser due to the slow down of motion. I wonder if a higher angle shot would let you see a better perspective. Well done!

Cool image! The rings show the hydraulic jump really well. The shadows of the drops are cool, pretty ominous looking. The Worthington Jet demonstration is pretty cool and well timed.

Great timing on this, I like the visualization of the rings that are happening. You captured a lot of cool phenomena!

You did a great job capturing the image’s motion. Cool how the hydraulic jump is captured in the middle of the ring. How high did you drop the grape juice from?

I like the target shape formed by the drop. Was that intentional? The photo has great contrast and is in good focus. I like the flowering around the drop as well. The symmetry of the photo is well-used. Good job!

Effective use of colors and symmetry. I like how the full image space is used. Great timing as well.

I like the concentric rings of fluid and the drop coming up in the middle. The dark circles are a little distracting but you mentioned it was a shadow which is kind of cool. It might be interesting to invert the colors of the image.

The focus of this image is great. The white background makes the red pop in the image. I like the circular patterns.

The timing of this picture is excellent and really shows what is happening to the droplet at the moment of impact. I think a sharper focus and possibly a faster shutter speed would help to freeze the motion of the smaller drops but the main event is captured very well.

I like the target-like nature of the subject! Also the uniform background was a good choice for this photo.

love the chaos in the photo! What is the lighting in the photo? The circular nature of the photo is very capturing. Interesting how there is a shadow of the next drop incoming to the plate.

The shadow caused by the liquid looks great. I like the color contrast between red and white. I like how it blur from inside to outside. Looks great.

I like how you captured the drop coming up in the center. Perhaps you could crop some of the blur out. The shadow of the drop is very cool

  • I love this image! I think you did a really good job of capturing the different rings of juice. The color gives great contrast against the white background, and I like that you can see the drop in the middle. The comparison of clear and blurred parts of the image are interesting to think about.

Nice photo, like the mixture of the two fluids seems pretty uniform throughout. Good symmetry. Like the flying particles.

I really like the small “hill” at the center of the rings. The fact that you captured the really small droplets flying through the air is quite impressive. Nice shot!

The target design with the drop at the center is very appealing. The reflection of the light source off the middle drop also draws the viewers attention to the source of the impulse.

Really like the blend of dark and light red in this image. I also like how well the front of the image is in focus and quickly fades away to blurriness in the back. How did you set this up?

I like how you created a ripple effect with the colors. my only suggestion is to try to keep the dark red patches out and keep everything the same color.

The timing of this image is extremely impressive! The background is very beneficial to the image since it brings out a nice contrast against the redish grape juice.

I’m curious how you set up the image, it looks very difficult to capture and I am very impressed with the sharpness of the image. The colors are great too, you can never go wrong with red on white. having a lens that can capture that close it great! Nice work.
