For our team’s first assignment we decided to play with fire! We each played around with different methods for finding creative flow from fire apparatus, safely of course. In this image, I captured my campfire blowing NW at the right moment under clear skies in Independence Pass Colorado.

I like the isolation of the blue against the white. The focus is very good and turned out quite well for a first team image!

I love the editing choice on this image. It takes a second to realize that it is fire, because of the inverted colors and the high contrast.

I really like seeing this in inverse. I love staring at campfires, especially the small embers that go flying off of the wood, and I really like that this image captures that, and frames it in a way that I’ve never seen before.
I really enjoy the creative choices you made with this image, changing the color shifts the focus to the flow itself. The white background lends a hand with the directing attention to the flow as well.
Like the inverted colors of the photo, really brings out the soot floating away from the photo. The inversion forces you to focus on the flame as well.
The color inversion makes this image stand out. I like that it helps to show the sparks coming off of the campfire against the dark sky.
I like the color difference between other team mates. Looks great. Although it hard to identify the flame, it looks great with more “cold” theme.

Very interesting to see how the distortion works with the flame. What are those small spots? This makes it look as though you were capturing ink in water.
It took me a while to understand what was going on because of the color inversion but now that I understand, this image is incredible. The color inversion was definitely the way to go here. Nice work!
Like the inversion of the colors. Cool how the particles come off from the flame. Almost has a cold and icey feel to it.
