For this image, my team and I used the Flume in the ITLL basement to explore waves. We used a wood block to cut off the flow of water, and then released the water and photographed the interaction of the water rushing and hitting a solid wall. Cropped out of the left side of the image is the solid wall. We dropped food coloring into the water as the wave was about to hit, and this was the resulting image. The food coloring was initially red, but I changed it to purple to get a higher contrast (and cooler looking) image.

As one of this team, the editing on this photo is amazing. I love how it is edited from blue to purple and is perfectly clear in the background.
The light purple is very appealing to look at. Great job and creating a very uniform bright background
Cool use of the flume. I really enjoy how clear everything is. The purple is a nice touch. Well done.
I really like the contrast of the purple. The diagonal is very appealing to the eye. Nice job!
This is a beautiful representation of turbulent flow. Great job bringing out the contrast and color in the image. I like the diagonal flow and composition of the image.
Such a beautiful scene! I really like how the purple looks like it is expanding out of the fluid. How did you get a white background? The color contrast is so cool on the image.
I think this looks really pretty! and the purple is an excellent addition. I think you captured the moment in time really well. The white background looks really good. Really digging the white/purple/black, I can’t stop staring at it!
The contrast makes the image quite dramatic! The image is also very sharp; you guys focused it well!
I am really impressed with out sharp the image is. The purple food coloring is a really nice touch. I wonder how it would look if there were multiple colors used.
The flow apparatus is well-design, a narrow flow channel. The phenomena is dramatic and the purple color is my favourate part in this image. The shutter speed is 1/2000 which is really quick. I wonder what kind of lighting equipement you apply in this experiment?
Beautiful image, I really like the splash of color and how sharp the focus is. I also like the diagonal symmetry that is occurring due to the shape of the wave.
Color is fantastic. The low shutterspeed is fantastic as it really captures a single moment in time. I like the contrast and background as well. Very well done!
Good editing choice.I like the color. Nice crisp image with good motion capture.
Very sharp image. The flow looks awesome! I like the wide image that shows the dynamic of flow.
great picture, I like how clear the image is and the dye really helped bring the wave effect out.
I love the purple with the white background. Very crisp, and very artistic. I love how you can’t tell where the water is other than the surface and the disturbances. This is something that I would hang on my wall! It might be interesting to play with more colors.
This is a great image! I think you did a great job capturing the motion of the wave and the food coloring adds nicely to the image. What type of image did you use to capture the motion?
This is such a nice, serene looking picture. I can hear it and I feel refreshed. Editing it to purple was a good idea, I like how it keeps the temperatures cool. I also really like the soft white background, it makes the ripples and distortions in the water really pop.
Great image, I like the use of dye and editing choices you made.
This is awesome! Love the purple coloring and three dimensionality of the image, makes you feel immersed in the image. How did you time the food coloring?
Wow, this is incredible! I really like how the coloring is more so in the center but then fades away pretty quickly. The center of the image seems to be partly in focus, partly out of focus which in my opinion is a really cool effect.
This image is very awesome! The waves are in a very nice focus and I’m glad that you ended up cropping out the wall. I like that you changed the color of the dye, it does make the image look cooler!
Very detailed and beautiful image, really captures the exact moment of the fluid flowing. Like the purple color entering the stream
