Video Credits: Ford Performance
This video shows the science of fluid mechanics through a wind tunnel to show the aerodynamics of the Ford GT. Aesthetic wise one can see the white smoke’s path over the vehicle showing how the fluid interacts with the body panels. The air flows over the vehicle’s smooth surface which was designed to promote the least amount of drag. On the science side the car creates more down-force from the angle of the rear wings, from the air pushing downward onto the car. Many car manufactures use wind tunnels to test the body aerodynamics of their vehicles to ensure the least coefficient of drag.
