This image was taken at the Colorado-Wyoming border at 7:35pm on September 2nd, 2019, looking southwest. These are altocumulus clouds and unstable atmosphere. The ceilometer for that day indicated that these clouds were hanging out at around 5-6 kilometers.Skew-T diagram from weather.uwyo.eduCeilometer data from skywatch.colorado.eduDid you know you can drive from Boulder to Mount Rushmore and back in a day? Great image! The clouds are nice but what I think makes this image really good is the colors present from the yellow in the bottom to the blue as you move up the image.

Nice lighting!
Really cool – I like how the orange looks on the cloud
I like the editing especially the contrast
This is personal opinion but I liked the colors on the original image more because they look more realistic
Beautiful colors in the sky!
Really cool image, Love the goldish color reflected on the clouds, and how the moon is actually in there!
I really like the colors you were able to capture from the sunset. It looks like the clouds are on fire.
Beautiful clouds! Also now I know a trip to Mount Rushmore is possible in a day from Boulder!
I really enjoy the moon in this photo. The colors at play are very effective.
