It definitely has a bit of a hurricane look that I find really interesting to look at. The asymmetry gives an interesting effect with how busy the left side is as compared with the right.
I like how the light diffractions on the smoke show’s the interior of the smoke.
It might be interesting to play with the color or exposure settings for this image to try to make the vortex stand out more.
The light rising up from under the water glass gives this image a very warm feeling.
I really enjoy the vortex you created in this image. More contrast would allow us to visualize the complexities of the vortex more, so that could be something you can consider for next time.
I liked that there are different flow visualization in the image. it shows variety and different perspectives.
Love the giant vortex on the left. I also like how the gas is flowing out of the edge of the container on the right.
Why did you fill the vessel partially with water rather than soley smoke?
I like how the flow from the right interacting with the fluid in the jar creates the effect shown in the picture
The illumination method really makes this picture stand out. It allows you to clearly see the motion of the smoke, and with the reference of the shutter speed you can kind of imagine how fast the smoke is moving.
I appreciate that your photo contains the vortex and also the “left over” clouds from when the fog was blown over the surface. I think it gives a nice juxtaposition between an orderly flow and a disorderly flow, and how the same puff of fog can end up in varying end states depending on what it interacts with and how.
Great image! The image creates the feeling of something emerging. I think it was a good combination to have a cross flow cloud interact with the cloud coming out of the vessel, it creates some nice interactions.
I enjoy how the vortex structure on the left side wasn’t intended, but was still captured. The picture overall looks really striking.
I like how you can see the vortex on the left side of the image in full view. I wonder if you could work with the image in photoshop to see more depth in the vortexes.
Your lighting set-up is really interesting because it is lit from the bottom. This effectively captures the details of the smoke and the photo is very visually interesting.
I think that the setup was good and I liked how the lighting showed a strong color of the smoke. However, I personally think that not showing the jar may give a better picture.
I love how the smoke is lit from the bottom, it looks like the smoke is coming from a source that producing light and smoking- it makes me curious about what’s in the jar below!
I like the light coming from the bottom of the glass because the vapor is very bright and almost glowing and it shows great contrast with the dark background.
It’s interesting how much light comes from below. The spiral vortex reminds me of a hurricane.
I like the varying density of the fluid as your pan from left to right across the frame.
I think that the light coming from below sets your image apart from similar photographs like this.
This is a very well done image, the lighting really highlighted the features of the smoke’s flow. I thought the container at the bottom was a good feature because it allowed the smoke to have an even more interesting flow around it.
I like the lighting coming from the vessel at the bottom. With the black background, it gave the smoke an incredible color and feeling.
I like how you used the lightening to your advantage, it gave the image a glowing vibe
Where was the lamp set to make the vessel look so glossy?
The glass and illuminated water source make a very beautiful base for the image. The vortex in the vape cloud pulls you in and the residual smoke on the right side show very interesting flow.
I love how the smoke looks gold. Well done.
I appreciate how the curl of the cloud represents the vortex created by the two masses of fluid.

I like that you chose to have multiple different flows at a time, the smoke flowing down into the jar as well as whirring over the top gives a nice effect.
What do you think about the amount of background you have? Do you think that adding more dark background would exaggerate the light and capture more of the fluid mechanics?
I liked how the picture is framed to fit as a whole without a background. It makes us visualize the flow even better.
What was your reasoning for including only part of the tip of the jar? I like the lighting and how it makes the fog colorful
The color scheme reminds me of paper exposed to fire. I wish the jar lid was captured parallel to the frame. I like how the illumination fades as your eye travels up the frame.
I like the vortex that you captured and how there is denser smoke on one side than the other.
The use of diffused light beautifully illuminates the smoke.
The antisymmetry in the photo makes a really nice aesthetic. Great flow vis allows us to see the streaklines of the flow with some rotation but mostly disorder.
I liked the vortice that formed by the collision of the two smoke clouds
How do you feel about the contrast of the vortices? I think increasing the contrast or sharpness in the middle of the main vortex could really enhance the image movement.
