This image was taken from the air using an iPhone 8 at about 3,500ft, out of a Piper Cherokee 4 seater airplane. I believe the clouds below are stratocumulus, at about 2,600ft, and the clouds at the top of the image are cirrus, at about 23,000ft. A CAPE value of 0.00 means the atmosphere is extremely stable (thankfully). Focal length 3.99mm, aperture f/1.8, exposure 1/2703.

I think capturing from and airplane is an interesting idea, really nice focus too
This is a great photo here David. You did a great job avoiding the glare that is common in photos from inside the cockpit. I like the depth that is captured from the wing tip to the ground with the wind turbines providing another point of depth.
Taking this from above the clouds with so much info on the elevations is fascinating. I really like how you captured the clouds rolling in.
I love that you captured this image while flying. I also like the colors and how the wind turbines stick up out of the clouds. I also like the gradient on the plane wing.
this image is really beautiful, I like how much texture that can be seen in the clouds from this perspective
Awesome focus! Great image
Super cool shot David! I love how you can see the wind turbines peeking out from under the clouds– it adds great depth and texture to the photo!
such a neat perspective! great work
