Jacob Christiansen // Clouds Second

Jacob Christiansen // Clouds Second

This is an image I took of a large cloud on Nov. 24 2020, using a Pixel 2 XL phone camera. It was taken at 10:33AM, near the Sunlight Mountain Resort in Glenwood Springs, CO. This is a stable atmosphere, with the clouds seemingly mixing with drifting snow. I believe the higher visible clouds are alto/cirrocumulus, and the lower fog-like parts are snow.

The Skew-T diagram for around this time is here:

I really like how the photo initially looks angled but then you realize thats the steepness of the terrain

I really like the you were at a higher altitude because it makes your image seem like you were right underneath the clouds.

Straight winter vibe from this photo, snow really adds impact to the image with the clouds

The clouds being so close to you as the observer and the mountain really create an interesting perspective. Great image!

I like the dark areas in the left and very top right, with the pretty blue sky peeking out too!

I really like being able to see the clouds/snow drift in between the camera and the mountainside.

This is a beautiful image! I love the winter aesthetic and colors. I also like the overlap and translucent layer over the nearby mountain.
