I chose to take a photo of a rippling wave within one of the water canals in Norlin Quad on Monday afternoon. I really liked seeing the effect of the rippling wave given the tiny changes in the elevation of the canal (especially as this was taken within the juncture of two of the slabs of the canal), creating this really cool effect which, aided by the mossy and rocky background and clear light of day, make up for a nice photo. I minimally changed the contrast and brightness of the photo to emphasize the “wave” like effect while not ruining the naturally bright colors and rotated the image about 270 degrees from its original position to better emphasize the flow visualization going on in the photo. A few stats: Canon Rebel T7, 1/640, f 8.0, 300 mm, 1600 ISO

This is a really cool picture! I like the colors — you chose a cool place to take the picture and it turned out great!
I like how the background of the rocks highlights how the waves are distorting on the surface of the water. Good job incorporating campus into the image as well.
I like being able to see the wave fronts. The colors in the image are also nice and coherent. It’s neat to see the distortion the water causes on the rocks beneath too so it provides some reference.
