This photo was taken on a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in Longmont on August 31st. Below this is the Skew-T Diagram. There is only one section on the chart which suggests the presence of clouds which is at 500 mb, elevating these altocumulus clouds at 5950m in the sky. The clouds appear to be altocumulus, meaning the atmosphere is unstable. This doesn’t allign with the SKEW-T diagram, and that is because there can still be a deviation between Longmont and Grand Junction.

Great photo, the blue/ yellow combo is one of my favorites artistically and it really emphasizes the shapes of the clouds. I also liked the street signs at the bottom, just thought that was a nice touch!
Beautiful colors in this one. It’s a bummer they stopped the weather balloons in Denver, and it’s interesting to see when the skew-T from Grand Junction doesn’t align with the weather we’re having on the front range here.
You did a good job editing the colors. I haven’t noticed the street signs and it should not be something to worry about.
Sunsets are the best. I think the street signs are actually a nice touch, but the powerlines are definitely in the way. I think you did with the editing to squeeze the real colors out of your phone’s camera.

The glow from the sunset is really striking and I love how it bleeds into all the different cloud “layers” in different ways.
