Ferrofluid visualizing the normal field instability. The image resembled an eye with the iris made from staining from the ferrofluid and the pupil being generated by the fluid in the magnetic field.
Image taken in collaboration with Lucas Fesmire and Martin Allsbrook with materials provided by Dr. Herzberg

Edit: Additional editing of image to better resemble an eye. Same base image as report.

This is an amazing photo! I love the use of the orange tint of ferrofluid and the dark density of it to create an eyeball like effect. Great job.

I like the colors in this image, but I do think that the edges of the image where it transitions to white are pretty harsh. I find the center of the image to be very interesting.

I love the angle of the camera to the ferrofluid as well as the photo editing allowing the surrounding edges to be black!

An amazing shot of this fluid! The only recommendation I would make is to try an iteration where the fluid is perfectly circular, for aesthetic purposes. Otherwise great job

In addition to reminding me of an eye, the combination of textures and colors reminds me of a sunflower or chrysanthemum with the spiky center and the streaks in the red section, which i think it really pretty.

The editing on this image is very well done, I really like all of the colors and contrast throughout.

I love the circular dark to vivid red to pitch black color contrasts with the interspaced bits of ferrofluid that is not centered in the middle. It looks like lava flow carrying rocks.
The magnetism effect of pulling in the ferrofluid looks like gravity at a planetary scale.
