Reminds me of the show “Twin Peaks”! How far away was the candle and how far did it travel after the frame? R: “2” above candle rim, 6” from candle camera placement, smoke rose 3-5” above the top of the frame
The darkness and abstraction of this image makes me think of a fleeting smoke spirit of some sort. You did a good job framing the smoke; it almost seems like a figure of some sort.
You did a nice job! I would like to see how it would look if you use additional source of light.
I like the choice of the smoke in front of a dark background. It portrays the smoke as the light source creating an interesting image.
I enjoyed the natural pattern that the smoke ended up taking in this picture.
This is a really cool visualization of smoke and I really like the stark contrast between the subject and the background. Can you tell me about the artistic choice behind the framing of the image?
The color composition is really compelling, I like seeing smoke embody the “light” half of sort of a “light vs dark” idea and the goldish-hue makes it feel almost angelic. To answer your question about the graininess of the image I would experiment with adding more external light and turning down the ISO setting to see if it makes the image any clearer.
