Clouds 2 || Will Dietz

This image was taken, facing southwest, just outside of Boulder on Highway 36. The atmosphere was unstable. The clouds near the bottom of the image are cumulus and the ones near the top are most likely altostratus clouds.

    I like how you were able to capture the sky. This kind of wispy sky is something that we don’t see very often, and I think you did a good job of presenting it.

    I really like how the light reflects off of the cumulus clouds on the bottom. It makes them look less fluffy and more like splashing water frozen in time.

    I really like the different textures of clouds. Based on the image and SKEW-T chart, it looks like there are lots of different elevations of clouds.

    I like how diverse this image is in terms of clouds, textures, and colors. Lots of soft and fluffy, some whisps, blues, whites, grays. Lots of good diversity top to bottom.

    I appreciate the two layers of clouds present. The skew-t shows clouds around 3,000m as well as 10,000m. Very cool.

    I love the range of colors present in this image, the yellows and greens in the bottom right are uncommon in cloud photos and add a cool effect.

    I like how the cumulus clouds line the edge of the horizon, it adds some variation to the image.

    The lighting you captured is super impressive. Both your shadows and highlights really stand out and it makes for an awesome image.

    I like how vast the depth of the photo is including all of the various cloud formations on the horizon.
