This picture was taken on eastbound I-70 between Grand Junction and Palisade, Colorado. It was taken at 3:55 pm on October 2nd. Below is the Skew-T chart from the Grand Junction Regional Airport (which is under four miles from where this photo was taken!). It looks like the clouds are cumulus and cirrostratus, and the atmosphere was unstable.

Love the road. Definitely got the Cars movie vibes.
I love the composition of this shot, the plateaus are beautiful! This reminds me of road trips from when I was younger, what a great shot!
I know its not the main focus but the mesa is really striking and impressive in this image
To answer your question, I love the inclusion of the road! It really completes the whole composition in my opinion, and the plateau on the left adds some great color and texture!
I like the detail captured in the stratocumulus clouds and the rock formation to the left.
I really like the mountains in this image.
To answer your question: I like that you kept the road, it adds size perspective. Since it takes up only a small portion at the bottom, I don’t think that its distracting.
I like the view of the ground scenery, the road, and the sky. I can go both ways on having the road in the image. I think the image would look great being ‘just nature’ but also it adds scale and familiarity to the scenery. It has a look like the Cars movie.
I really like all the sharp lines that show up on the hill on the left side. They contrast well with the curvy lines present in the clouds. The road also seems to lead your eyes towards the clouds.
Wow! I Love the mountains and the vast horizon line! I also love the highway sign, as it adds beautiful color contrast.
The resolution of this image is very nice and the contrast between the rocks and the clouds against the blue sky is very pretty.
