I feel that this featured image, which shows the Kelvin-Helmholtz phenomena, best exemplifies the best fusion between art & science flow visualization. This phenomena is all about the interaction between different fluids with different velocities, densities, and other properties causing these surreal wave-like patterns. This phenomena provides scientific interests, shedding light on dynamics of fluid behavior. It also serves as an artistic inspirations, making artists capture the creative expression. Lastly, it provides educational value because the mesmerizing aesthetic beauty allows people to appreciate the natural beauty nature provided both in the sky and on water.

Third Prize. The way the clouds are shaped is awesome. It’s cool that we are able to see the dynamics of the atmosphere so easily, and the shapes made by this cloud formation is super eye-catching and beautiful.
Third Prize: This is the first time I have come across this phenomenon, and the visuals were quite unexpected. It not only adds to the intrigue behind its formation and adds educational value, but also serves as a wellspring of artistic inspiration, making it a compelling choice for the third prize.
Third Prize – This is insane to see in nature. Seeing shear flow instability naturally, without any visualization techniques, is incredible to me and I feel exemplifies true basic flow visualization.
