This image is a snapshot from Thomas Blanchard’s “Kingdom of Colors” short film, showcasing a visual landscape crafted through the interplay of paint, oil, and soap. Colored paint droplets, enveloped in oil, create anti-bubbles that burst upon the liquid surface, giving birth to a spectrum of new hues. The finger-like patterns are a result of the Saffman-Taylor instability, a fluid dynamic phenomenon that occurs when a less viscous fluid pushes into a more viscous one. In essence, this image beautifully merges the science of fluid dynamics with the aesthetics of flow. Hello Tandralee,
What a great image! I love the wide range of color that this displays! It reminds me a bit of my childhood. Maybe the lorax or wreckitralph. It almost looks like an old Dr. Seuss film with all the colors. Great selection for best of web!

I like how clearly you can see the delineation between the bubbles. All of the different colors are also really cool to look at.
