This image was captured on September 30 at 0647. This cloud image was taken along Guanella Pass in Colorado along the trail to Mt. Bierstadt, the classic Colorado 14er. This image was taken with an iPhone 12 Pro. This cloud resembles a series of altocumulus clouds gathered together in the sky. These clouds were stand alone and not a part of a greater cloud formation. The image was taken at sunrise which was perfect timing to exemplify the sunrise pink and red colors on the clouds. The atmosphere was stable at the time of this cloud image due to the convective available potential energy (CAPE) equaling zero for this skew-T plot. A further explanation of the stability of the atmosphere is included in the report below.

Hey there Monica!
I love this image! I wish there was an element within the image to provide perspective on how big this cloud formation really was. Other than that I love the cloud selection. The reds, yellows, and blues bouncing off of each other really make the image pop! The dark shadow on the right side of the formation is a cool aspect as well. Good job!
The colors on this are awesome! I really like how the pink looks with the blue sky. Plus your cloud is really interesting looking.
I think the framing in this shot is awesome. You did a great job capturing this cloud formation and keeping the focus on only the clouds.
I love the colors in this image and the way the cloud seems to be peacefully floating.
Hello Monica,
The bright red color of the cloud is very intriguing. I like the contrast between the cloud color and the light blue of the sky behind it. I also think that the shape of the cloud you pictured is very interesting.
I love how you captured this at a high elevation. The cotton-candy like colors are stunning and the pink contrasts well against the blue sky.
I love how the photo really focuses on a single cloud! I think being able to see a single cloud in detail is really interesting and provides a different perspective than seeing the entire sky.
This cotton-candy cloud is really cool; the colors are incredibly striking (and your editing choices augment those colors). Not to personify clouds, but I really like the shape of this cloud because it reminds me of a person with really long hair waving. I’m glad you chose a cloud with such a cool shape!
