The clouds are likely cumulus clouds due to their fluffy cotton ball like shapes and their low level in the atmosphere. According to the Skew T Plot, the atmosphere is unstable which is indicative because the weather shifted from sunny the day before this image to overcast and cloudy the following day.

This is a really cool image! I really like the way you can see the ground behind the clouds, it provides a lot of perspective in the image.
