Ferrofluid in a paper cup above a magnet, creating the spike shapes. Ferrofluid is also seeping into the walls of the cup, creating the brown background. I chose this image due to the varying focus across the spread of spike formations, specifically the lack of focus towards the bottom of the frame.

I like this image a lot. You did a great job of capturing the normal field instability with really small spikes.
I really liked the aesthetics of this image. It reminds me of a hairbrush with the bristles being the ferrofluid peaks and valleys.
I like how the focus kinda drops out at the bottom so the reflections kind of blend together and create a cool pattern.
