This image was taken in the depths of Jewel Cave just southwest of Rapid City, South Dakota on Nov 18, 2023. This image depicts drapery calcite flow stone as well as nailhead spar formed over millions of years by Calcium Carbonate deposition flowing through limestone.
This image was taken on my Canon EOS R6 M2 at a focal length of 99mm, shutter speed of 1/60s, an aperture of f/7.1, and an ISO of 8000. The focus distance for this image was 4.64m.

This is an intriguing image. The colors are cool and I think this is a fun idea of capturing fluid flow over millions of years.
I really like teh concept of capturing flow this way, as it feels like im seeing ancient flow over time when most of the time the fluid dynamics we discuss is instant.
That’s fascinating! It almost looks like coral which adds to the otherworldly look that I think lends so well to photographing flow physics
