Fall 2023 Team Third – Austin Sommars

Fog emitted across a glass rod, intersected by a laser creating a circular “laser sheet”. Refraction from this light is reflected by the ambient fog and creates a haze-like effect. I like this visualization technique because it can yield similar images to “light painting”. Photo taken with Leo Steinbarth, Greg Kornguth, and Stella Meillon.

I like how the laser is slightly out of focus/you can tell its moving. It creates a cool effect when you’re showing the flow of the smoke.

Rather than a steamy mist or turbulence, you managed to capture what comes across as radiance, which i still think is very interesting.

I’m not sure how well it demonstrates flow, but I do really like the image. It looks like a planet eclipsing a red star!

I like how it looks like the light in the edges is diffusing, it is a striking visual
