The atmosphere was stable because there are large flat layers of clouds and clear skies.
The types of clouds present are most likely cumulus because of their puffines and stratus because of their low level wispiness.

I really liked the coloring of this photo. I think the contrast selection you chose was great!
I agree with Sam, I love the colors in this image! I think the way you edited the image really bring out the colors.
The color composition here is so so good. The primary blues and yellows paired are textbook color theory and so well implemented here. The clouds too add so much as a looming, imposing form.
