Intra-aneurysmal Flow Distribution

Intra-aneurysmal Flow Distribution

The science behind this picture is to understand the blood flow dynamics in the internal carotid arteries of patients (A,B) with cerebral aneurysm. From an aesthetic perspective, the intricate swirling pattern of blood flow in a 3D geometry is visually mesmerizing to look at and the 3D rendering adds more depth and dimension to the image. The use of contrasting colours (Red and Cyan) to depict separate inflows looks visually eye-catching and easier to interpret the flow analysis.

3rd: I think the visualization of blood flow dynamics in the different patients is very cool. The way that the differences between the two are heightened by the contrasting colors is also very eye catching.

This is my First Prize vote, not only do I find the organic shapes of the projected flow patterns incredibly interesting, but the difference between A and B is captivating. The contrast and depth of the inflows against the black background is very beautiful. I like the yellowish white ghosting effect that gives the image a euphoric, dream-like ambiance.
