This photo shows the phenomena known as the Rayleigh or Worthington Jet. This occurs when a water droplet breaks the surface tension of a basin of water. The setup was quite simple I filled a bowl with water to act as the basin and then used a dropper. I caught this picture using 1/1000 s shutter speed.
