This amazing photo was taken in southern Tasmania by Dave Reynolds. This phenomenon is called Bioluminescence, in which the organisms produce light through a chemical reaction in their bodies. For this reaction to occur, an organism has to contain luciferin, in which it produces light when it reacts to oxygen. The beauty of this image resembles in the bright blue light that occurs from chemical reaction Vs. photons released from the surface of stars.

First prize, I really like the contrast between the blue water and space
First Place. I’m a huge fan of space and this picture just puts everything into perspective. It shows how small we are in compare to the universe but even the smallest things are magnificent.
First Place. I really like colors as well as how
Third prize. I really like that this image is on a larger scale than some of the other ones and I enjoy the vibrant shade of blue from the chemical reaction.
