2019 Fall Clouds First

This is a photo of an unstable altocumulus cloud that was taken over CU Boulder East Campus on 9 OCT 2019 at 1:30 PM.

Original, unedited image. Converted from RW2 to JPG, taken using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1. Camera settings: ISO – 640, aperture – f/9, shutter speed – 4000.

This is a Skew-T diagram of Denver at approximately the same time the photo was taken. It reveals that at the altitude of the clouds, the atmosphere is unstable. Also, the CAPE value of 119.2 shows that it is only mildly unstable.

I liked the accentuated curves of the clouds. It definitely brings out the definition of the cloud.
