This image is an excellent visualization of a phenomena known as vortex shedding, which occurs when a fluid flows over a non-streamlined, or bluff, surface. Not only is it an interesting experiment, but it is also visually appealing. I love the color choice and the use of contrast between the dark blue trail and the whitened background. I also love the amount of motion in the image, it makes it feel alive.
