This picture was taken with a high speed camera fitted with a macro lens. The subject is the separating lift-off of water following a large droplet impacting the surface. The water was dyed slightly blue for visual appeal. Taken with help from Rachel Marbaker and Tandralee Chetia.

This image is super cool with the pastel colors. It looks like a cgi fluid simulation in some ethereal plane. I think the focus could be better, but I wonder if that’s a matter of intense cropping?
