This image was taken on my Canon EOS R6 Mark II Mirrorless camera on September 2, 2023, at 6:23pm. This photo was taken in Estes Park on Lily Lake Trail, located just off highway 7 at around 9,000ft in elevation. In the background you can make out the distinguishing notch in Longs Peak, one of Colorado’s most famous fourteeners. This photo was taken just before sunset with the light off to the west at roughly 2 o’clock.
This image consists of various types of clouds in a stable atmosphere. I chose to focus on the cumulus, cirrus, and altocumulus undulatus clouds in my report.
Camera Settings: 24mm, ISO 200, F8.0, and a shutter speed of 1/5000s.
The following are the SkewT plots from Grand Junction for 12Z Sep 2 and 00Z Sep 3 respectively.

Hi Ciaran
I liked how you captured the clouds and the silhouette of the mountains. I really like this shot with the dark clouds being somewhat highlighted around the edges from the setting sun and a dark bluish background of the sky.
Nice work!
This image is really cool. I appreciate the contrast between the light and dark. Its really interesting to see how the sun illuminated the clouds despite the fact it was partially covered.
